Gas Turbine Powered Model Aircraft - Failsafe Rule

Postby Dick Spreadbury » Tue May 13, 2008 5:57 pm

The BMFA have finally ratified the joint JMA/GTBA Code of Practice which includes the important failsafe rule. The rule states:

"In the event of loss of signal the failsafe must be set so that, after
a maximum of 3 seconds the engine will go to idle or shut down. The use
of idle as the failsafe setting must be authorised by the event
organiser. The event organiser may also specify a shorter delay time."

The full COP will be published by the BMFA in due course.
