Flying with the FrSky Taranis Tx and equipment

Postby Jerome Lunt » Wed Jun 09, 2021 4:19 pm

Hello all. My first post on this forum.

I have and Excalibur jet fitted with PowerBox dual redundancy batteries and separate receiver battery.

I have flown it twice (last October before shutdown!!) using my FrSky Tatanis X9D+ transmitter and an S8R receiver which can provide a stability and recovery mode. I (had to) used neither, it was very stable and easy to fly.

However, with this type of plane, I wonder if I should upgrade receivership to dual redundancy receivers. I have never experienced any problems in communication or range with the X9D+ transmitter, but should I upgrade this also, without moving from FrSky because I like the ability to use OpenTx transmitter software.

Advices/experiences from any other FrSky user is appreciated, thank you.
