Lightning Preservation Group

Postby Dick Spreadbury » Tue Aug 14, 2012 11:04 pm

Those who went to the AGM this year will recall the superb presentation given by Richard Norris on the work of the Lightning Preservation Group, at Bruntingthorpe. Their latest achievement has been the completion of the 'Wattisham' QRA shed, from which a practice scramble was recently enacted for the first time (without the taking off and flying bit, of course!).

To erect the shed cost well in excess of £130K - all of it donated, including the £100 fee for Richard's presentation, which has earned the JMA recognition by having its name inscribed on he LPG's QRA shed donator's plaque, that is located in the QRA shed itself! Many thanks Richard, much appreciated...and also to Ian Wilde, who did all the set-up work for us with Richard's presentation.

If you haven't been to Bruntingthorpe to see (and hear and feel) the Lightnings, and all the other live aircraft they have there, have a look at the link below and plan a is well worth it!
